This concert is an encore to the highly successful show we organized in August 2008. It is a reunion of four of the most popular South Florida rock and roll bands of the 1960’s and will be hosted by legendary DJ, Rick Shaw.
South Florida was a mecca for rock and roll bands in the 60’s and for this concert we will feature four of the best of the day.
The Pawns
The Queens Kids
Peach
The Kollektion featuring Richie and Angel with a special appearance by Joe Lala from Blues Image
These bands, like so many others, played at all the popular teen venues back in the day like The Place, the World, PAL, the North Miami Armory, the War Memorial Auditorium and so many more. They could also be heard poolside at the hotels on the beach, fraternity parties, popular dance clubs and just about any place where young people gathered to dance and listen to music.
Like all of our concerts, all profits after expenses will be donated to The Majic Children’s Fund, a non-profit, charitable organization formed in 1988 for the purpose of raising funds and services for distribution to South Florida charities that benefit children in need. Radio personality Rick Shaw is the Director and has dedicated his personal time, leadership and guidance reaching out into the community on it’s behalf.
For this upcoming event we have formed an alliance with the Mahi Shriners of Miami. They are providing their auditorium for the event and for their generosity The Majic Children’s Fund will provide a share of the funds received to The Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Shriners Hospitals for Children is an international health care system dedicated to improving the lives of children by providing high quality pediatric specialty care, innovative research and outstanding teaching programs. Children up to the age of 18 receive all care in a family-centered environment with no financial obligation to patients or families, made possible solely through the generosity of donors.
